In the end…

… what did I find out?

I found out that Cambodian students aren’t much different from German students. of course, we have a different cultural background, but when it comes down to it, I think we basically have the same interests. After all, we’re all just young people having life ahead of us. I don’t think it’s much different from any other country. I really liked the video and audio stuff that drew a nice picture of Cambodian everyday life. But also the blogs were so interesting. I got the impression that for most of the Cambodian students, family is very important which is really nice.  And I thought that the Cambodian students had a lot more experience in creating and maintaining a blog, maybe they use it for other classes/purposes too?

As most of the other students mentioned before, the communication was a bit difficult because of the time issue which led to late replies. I hope nobody got upset over it, I think it showed that you have a whole bunch of work and way too little time no matter where you study. However, I didn’t find it too hard to find topics to talk about. Of course, it’s all regular small talk stuff, but it was still very nice and I hope the conversation maybe goes on after this class ends?

The only thing left that I would like to find out is a bit more about the life of the Cambodian students outside of uni. What kind of music do they listen to, what do they do in their free time? Do they have some bars or clubs where they frequently hang out?

Oh and if anybody wants to see the video again, just go to jojo’s blog. There you can watch it as many times you want :)

it’s back :)

today I finally got my senseo back. Good thing, because I have to be at my seminar at 8 am. Probably wouldn’t have made it without a morning coffee…

Thinking bout my week without coffee, it really wasn’t without coffee altogether, and luckily I wasn’t that grumpy.. I didn’t lose any friends that’s for sure :) And now I’m just happy that I have my morning coffe back :)

kaffee2I love my friends! They all felt so bad for me not having coffee :) On monday, after I was close to falling asleep in a seminar, a friend got me a coffee after and we sat outside in the sun for like an hour enjoying this delicious hot beverage. Good thing we had great weather all week, I can’t imagine how I could have gotten out of bed in the morning when it rained cats and dogs.

I’m still waiting for my coffee machine to come back to me, but I’m thankful for all my friends supplying me with enough coffee to get though the day :)

my favourite media… or something like it :)

I was about to write an article about my computer because it’s the one thing that is basically always running to play music or surf the internet or talk to my friend in the US, but then something happened..

Philips Germany started to call back their senseo coffee makers because of some production error… unfortunately, mine was among the ones that needed to be send back. So today, I brought my beloved coffee maker to the post office.

I’m not sure if a coffee machine is in the category ‘media’, but coffee is definetly the most essential thing in my day. when I say my computer is always running, then I’m most likely to use it with a cup of coffee in my hand. It’s basically the first thing I do in the morning, turning on the coffee machine. So now, with it being sent away, the first chance to get a coffee is at uni and I’m curious to see how the week is going to develop without my morning coffee.. my friends predicted that I’m gonna be a grumpy wretch by the end of the week and made plans to keep away from me before I had my first coffee, but I hope it will all work out without any damage ;) I’ll keep you posted!

ps. I’m not THAT coffee addicted, just helps me through the day :)

new header

So the header picture is the sundown at the Flensburg harbor. In the summer me and my friends love to sit there, as do a lot of other Flensburg students. So there’s always a lot of action going on, peolpe having BBQ or playing frisbee, an so on. Last year we had an evening where my friend and I were sitting there, watching the sunset and just talked for hours until we realized that the sun was going up again. So obviously, it has to be summer for those kind of nights because in spring or fall it is just flipping cold and you can’t sit there the whole night ;)

This is one of the reasons why I enjoy being in Flensburg so much.. I’ve never seen anything like this before and I wouldn’t miss it for the world!

Just so you have an idea of what I listen to. My music is basically always running, and the type of music that’s in depends a lot on the time and form of day.. so this is only a very short overview.

Volbeat is a band from Denmark I listened to quite often the last weeks, but I also like Bands like AFI, Danko Jones, Fall Out Boy, Dashboard Confessional, The Shins and German Bands like Kettcar, Klee or Die Ärzte

Hey everyone! This is the first blog ever for me, so I’ll try and figure it out as quickly as I can.. I hope this all works out and I’m excited to see how all the other blogs turned out!

So a little bit about me… (I’m still working on the about me section..): I have 3 siblings which is not so common in Germany. At least most of the people I know have one or 2 siblings.  But it was fun most of the times because we always had a full house an it was never boring.

After I graduated from school, me and my family spent a year in the States, which was one of the best years of my life, and I still have some friends over there, even though I haven’t been there for 4 years.

This is me(right) and my friend from the States.
